Indian Navy surveys the market for USVs

A trio of USVs for surveying shallow waters is required by the Indian Navy.

India’s MoD released a request for information for three unmanned survey vessels for the Indian Naval Hydrographic Department (INHD) on 12 January.

These USVs are to collect bathymetric data in shallow waters in an unmanned mode using swath sounding and satellite-based augmentation system, according to the RfI viewed by Shephard.

A subsequent RfP is likely to be issued by year-end. Product support for maintenance and spares is to be provided for 12 years after delivery.
