Northrop Grumman is getting ready for the first test flights of the EuroHawk SIGINT platform inside German airspace, it has been revealed.

The first EuroHawk aircraft, which was delivered in July last year after a 22 hour ferry flight from California, has now been fitted out with the ISIS SIGINT system developed by Cassidian in preparation for the next set of flight tests, which Northrop Grumman hopes will be able to take place early next year.

The company has carried out taxi trials at Manching AB, in Bavaria during June and is now awaiting airworthiness certification from the German military authorities.
