ECA Group introduces Inspector 120 USV
ECA Group has unveiled a new USV called the Inspector 120 for naval applications including mine counter measure operations, the company announced on 2 October.
The 12m Inspector 120 can deploy ECA Group UUVs including the Seascan and K-STER 1 mine identification and defeat systems. It can also carry two towed sonars and act as a radio relay between other vessels and the mothership for the transmission of remote commands and sonar or video data.
The USV’s hull has been designed for advanced sea keeping, both in transit and at very low speed for the launch and recovery of UUVs. The system's launch and recovery systems enable its deployment from any vessel with a length of 50m plus.
The USV can be operated in autonomous mode, or by remote control or onboard steering.
