Dubai Airshow 2019: GA-ASI confident of clinching Middle East sales

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems (GA-ASI) is in discussions with a number of customers from the Middle East about the possibility of deals for a variety of unmanned systems.

Business prospects in the region have been overshadowed and inhibited because of guidelines contained within the international Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR) agreement, designed to restrict exports of UAVs with payloads of 500kg and a distance of 300km, but sales by the manufacturer can be completed on a selective basis, according to the company.
