AUVSI: STUAS acquisition recommendation now at the Pentagon

A draft acquisition recommendation for the joint US Navy - Marine Corps small tactical unmanned air system (STUAS) program has been passed from the program office to the Pentagon for review ahead of a final source selection.

The draft recommendation left the US Naval Air Systems Command PMA-263 program office last week.

Extensive speculation on the likely directions and outcome of the project has dominated this weeks Association for Unmanned Systems International annual show in Washington.

That speculation has included suggestions from industry and some US military circles that a second set of flight demonstrations might be in planning to
