vIITSEC 2020: Lockheed to expand F-35 DMO links

Lockheed Martin aims to reduce F-35 costs per flight hour to $25,000 by 2025

During a press briefing at this year’s vIITSEC, Lockheed Martin’s global sustainment senior programme integrator Todd Canterbury said that the company was working to integrate the F-35 with additional elements of the USAF’s Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) network in 2021.

The DMO provides the network infrastructure to allow Distributed Mission Training (DMT) to take place and links a variety of different simulators such as the F-15, F-16, F-22 and E-3.

Lockheed Martin, alongside the F-35 Joint Program Office (JPO) and the USAF, completed final DMT tests for the aircraft last July at Nellis AFB and now looks to expand this
