ITEC 2018: RAAF receives first F-35 trainers

As part of a multi-million dollar investment in infrastructure and training equipment at Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Base Williamtown, New South Wales, the RAAF has now taken delivery of its first tranche of training equipment in readiness for the arrival of its first F-35s.

This equipment comprises an Ejection System Maintenance Trainer (ESMT) and a Weapons Loading Trainer (WLT). The first two RAAF F-35A aircraft are scheduled to arrive at Williamtown in December 2018 and pilot training is scheduled to commence in mid-2019.
