ITEC 2018: FlightSafety adds to KC-46A aircrew training

The US DoD has announced that FlightSafety Services Corporation (FSSC) has been awarded a $35 million modification to a previously awarded contract for the KC-46A Pegasus Aircrew Training System (ATS).

FSSC was initially selected for the programme in May 2013 when they saw off rival bids from CAE, Boeing, L3 Link and Lockheed Martin. This initial $78.34 million firm, fixed-price contract was designed to provide virtual training for pilots and boom operators for the 179 aircraft ordered by the USAF out to 2026.

This new, so-called ‘Year Three modification option contract line item’ calls for an additional two weapon system
