SOCOM outlines maritime capabilities demonstration
United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) has outlined an upcoming technical experimentation (TE) activity focused on SOF maritime surface systems. The research and development opportunity was described in a USSOCOM request for information released on 14 June 2018.
Noting that TE events “provide an opportunity for technology developers to interact with operational personnel to determine how their technology development efforts and ideas may support or enhance SOF capability needs,” the announcement states that the upcoming TE 18-4 is designed “to highlight technologies that support SOF surface combatant craft of various sizes up to 80 feet long.”
