SOCOM looks to Little Bird upgrade

United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) is exploring a potential upgrade to the plank systems used to tactically configure its A/MH-6M “Little Bird” Special Operations Aircraft

Command interest in a new lightweight plank system upgrade was revealed in an RfI released on 12 March 2019.

According to the RfI, USSOCOM’s Technology Application Contracting Office is seeking to identify potential vendors who can provide new Light Weight Plank Systems (LWPS) for use on the A/MH-6M.

“The plank system shall be a line repairable, line replaceable unit (LRU) (on condition basis) and is required to interface with existing aircraft and suite
