PLA SOF expands counter-terrorism training

The New Year has seen Chinese special operations forces prioritizing counter-terrorism (CT) capabilities with partner nation forces across the Indo-Pacific region.

As the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) launched its training program for 2019, special operations brigades (SOBs) have already been involved in multiple bilateral CT training opportunities with special operations partners from Thailand and Pakistan.

On 7th January, China’s Ministry of National Defense (MND) disclosed details regarding Exercise Joint Strike 2019, which was initiated on 3rd January at the International Center for Counter-terrorism Action (ICCA) in Bangkok.
