Israeli Navy bulks up with refined corvette design
The design for the Israeli Navy’s future Sa’ar S-72 corvettes should be completed in the first half of 2021, with indications that the platform being developed by Israel Shipyards will be near 80m in length to provide capacity for the addition of future capabilities.
Although Israel Shipyards had been seeking clarity on batch production numbers, it is expected that eight ships will be acquired by the Israeli Navy to replace the Sa’ar 4.0 and Sa’ar 4.5 corvettes.
