Peene-Werft shipyard set to launch new OPV
The Peene-Werft Shipyard in Wolgast, Germany, is close to launching the first of a new class of 60m OPV for an unnamed customer that is believed to be the Saudi Border Guard (SBG).
The new vessel, shrouded in netting (pictured), was seen outside its building hall in the third week of July at Wolgast. Hull markings, if any, were not immediately discernible but its design closely resembles that of a model of a Lürssen designed OPV which was displayed earlier in 2018 at a SBG exhibition in Saudi Arabia.
