Lockheed Martin to continue support for UK ballistic missiles
Lockheed Martin will be providing engineering, technical support services and deliverable materials for the RN’s ballistic missile programme, under a new cost-plus-fixed-fee level-of-effort contract worth $17.61 million.
The services are expected to be provided until March 2021 with deliverable items arriving by 30 June 2022.
The company will also provide domestic technical support and operational support hardware along with consumable spares.
Most of the work is due to take place across the US in California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia and Maine. A small amount will be carried out in Coulport, Scotland.
The USN Strategic Systems Programs division is the contracting activity.
Ballistic missiles are carried by the RN’s fleet of Vanguard-class nuclear-powered submarines, including HMS Vanguard, HMS Victorious (pictured), HMS Vigilant and HMS Vengeance.
