FIDAE 2016: Colombia Navy eyes Israeli optics
Israeli electro-optical specialists Controp Precision Technologies announced in the run up to the FIDAE airshow that it recently completed the delivery of EO/IR turrets to the Colombian Navy.
The company said it had delivered a ‘significant’, but undisclosed, number of its iSea-20 and iSea-30 maritime EO/IR sensors to Colombia.
The systems will be integrated onto Colombian-manufactured THOR S.A.S T-12 (.50” cal) and T-25 (25mm cal) remote weapon stations on board the country’s new offshore patrol vessels, known as the OPV-80, and the CPV-46 coastal patrol vessels (CPV).
