Boeing to carry out P-8a Poseidon engine work

Boeing has received a $193 million contract modification from the US Naval Air Systems Command for P-8A Poseidon engine work, the US Department of Defense announced on 16 October.

This modification covers CFM56-7B27A/3 and CFM56-7B27AE engine depot maintenance and repair, field assessment, maintenance repair and overhaul engine repair, and technical assistance for removal and replacement of engines for the P-8A Poseidon aircraft.

The work will be carried out in support of the US Navy, the government of Australia and foreign military sales operators of the P-8 aircraft. 

Work will be completed in October 2020.
