New vehicles, tanks enter Russian forces
The Russian armed forces have taken delivery of a batch of T-72B3 tanks, the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) announced on 1 November.
Produced by Uralvagonzavod Corporation, the T-72B3 is equipped with high-automated fire control system, Sosna-type multi-channel sight, automatic target tracker, 125mm modernised gun and additional armour sets for urban warfare operations.
All main systems of the vehicle responsible for manoeuvrability, protection, and fire have been modernised.
At the same time, the MoD announced that Russian armed forces’ airborne special task units are set to receive about 40 Tigr-M special vehicles with Arbalet remote control modules.
The Tigr-M special vehicles are equipped with large-calibre machine gun and electro-optic reconnaissance system.
