Romania rolls out new Piranha Vs
The Romanian MoD unveiled its initial batch of General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS) Piranha V 8x8 wheeled combat vehicles at the lavish National Day military parade held in Bucharest on 1 December.
The eight vehicles demonstrated were delivered to Romania in early November.
Five of the vehicles were in the new IFV configuration, fitted with the Elbit Systems UT30MK2 unmanned turret, using one 30mm MK44 dual-feed cannon from Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems (Orbital ATK), together with a 7.62mm co-axial machine gun and a pod of two anti-tank guided weapons (ATGW).
