Norway set to upgrade night/day soldier systems

Norway is poised to commence work on a programme to upgrade the night and day soldier systems of its armed forces, with funding in place to purchase a range of thermal imagers, weapon sights, and sighting systems.

The Norwegian Defence Logistics Organisation (DLO)/Land Systems issued a request for information (RfI) in early 2013 for five types of soldier systems under Project 4013 to enhance the night and day vision capabilities of its forces.

Norwegian forces currently rely on a number of increasingly obsolete systems, including the M975 binocular and M972 binocular monoview. These systems have been mainly used for driving
