Japan unveils improved 8x8 APC prototype
Japan’s Acquisition, Technology & Logistics Agency (ATLA) announced that the first prototype of the Improved Wheeled Armoured Personnel Carrier (WAPC) was delivered to the Japan Ground Self-Defence Force (JGSDF) on 10 January.
Developed by Komatsu as successor to the incumbent Type 96 WAPC, the Improved WAPC will be used for various missions such as peacekeeping operations and island defence.
