DSA 2018: Malaysian Guardians approach Lebanon

The Malaysian Armed Forces’ new 4x4 protected vehicles for its peacekeepers stationed in Lebanon are currently in transit to the strife-torn country, Shephard learned at DSA 2018 in Kuala Lumpur.

These nine Guardian vehicles, built by the International Armored Group (IAG) in the UAE, will be used by Malaysian Battalion 850 on the United Nations Interim Force In Lebanon (UNIFIL) peacekeeping mission.

They are expected to arrive in Lebanon within the next ten days, Waqas Anjum, representing Middle East operations for IAG, told Shephard. After disembarking in Beirut and clearing customs, the white-painted vehicles will be united with
