Facing heavy congressional resistance, the Trump administration has cancelled its proposal to send the US Navy’s USS Harry S Truman (CVN-75) aircraft carrier into early retirement.
While visiting the Truman, which is moored at Naval Station Norfolk in Virginia for maintenance and training, Vice President Mike Pence on 30 April announced that the Nimitz-class, nuclear powered ship will not be decommissioned after all.
