New patrol boats set to support Kenya
The UK MoD will now be considering its options for the supply of three new patrol boats to support partner nations and British forces deployed in Africa under Operation Metro.
The contract notice was published on 18 January with a closing date of 19 February. If suitable bids have been submitted the contract will begin on 1 March 2018 and continue for 12 months.
The value of the procurement is likely to be around £122,000 ($170,000) for the three boats.
The patrol boats will support Kenya’s Rural Border Patrol Unit and its maritime wing, the Boarder Sea Operations Team (BORSOPTs),
