Anduril Australia wins A$1.7 billion Ghost Shark XL-AUV contract
The vessels are expected to deliver a major boost to Australia’s undersea warfare capabilities, with production set to start immediately.
Boeing has received a contract modification from the US Navy for P-8A related equipment.
The $40 million modification covers ancillary equipment for P-8A maritime patrol aircraft and P-8A trainers.
The work will run through to November 2022.
Boeing is the programme prime for the P-8 Poseidon aircraft used by the US Navy, Royal Australian Air Force and Indian Navy, and on order for several other nations.
Designed for long-range anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare and ISR missions, the aircraft is capable of broad-area maritime and littoral operations. It is also effective at humanitarian and search and rescue missions.
