Farnborough 2016: NH90 Sea Lion roaring to go

The first of 18 NH90 NTH Sea Lions destined for the German armed forces is in the final stages of production at Airbus Helicopters’ facility in Donauwörth in Germany.

The company is preparing the multirole helicopter for its first flight, which is scheduled to take place in December of this year.

The NH90 NTH (Naval Transport Helicopter) features new technical capabilities which are currently being implemented on the military assembly line.

On both sides of the rotorcraft there will be a 12.7mm machine gun M3M. In addition, the NH90 NTH will be equipped with new avionics, including IFF equipment
