Farnborough: Aero Sekur advances helicopter survivability range

Aero Sekur has used the Farnborough International Airshow (FIA) to launch a new lightweight crash-worthy fuel tank, and showcase its range of emergency flotation and external life raft systems.

The new tank is a flexible, lightweight design set to go into the new family of AgustaWestland helicopters, and is part of a wider product range focused on ensuring the post-crash survivability of helicopters, in particular those operating in the oil and gas sector.

In a bulletin issued on 20 February, the UK’s Civil Aviation Authority implemented CAP1145, a series of measures designed to mitigate the risks facing offshore helicopter
