West: Northrop to demo BAT UAS

Northrop Grumman will test two versions of the BAT fixed-wing UAS (12 ft and 14 foot) and a rotary wing (RBAT) variant later this year.

Speaking at West 2015 in San Diego Terry Parisher, land forces BD manager at the company, told Shephard that Northop Grumman plans to fly both the RBAT and BAT 14 this year on a three-month real world deployment, doing all launches and recoveries from an undisclosed vessel.

Planned payloads include the EO/IR day/night camera, and a possible offering of maritime synthetic aperture radar and communications relay.
