New UAS eyed for USCG's National Security Cutters
After several fits and starts, the US Coast Guard (USCG) is finally moving forward with plans to acquire a mid-range UAS capability to launch off its National Security Cutters.
The UAS is designed to help the service with a range of missions including drug and migrant interdiction, coastal security, and search and rescue.
In a 7 February solicitation posted on the Federal Business Opportunities website, the service announced that the UAS should be able to provide normal and surge ISR capabilities during the day and night, 24 hours a day, seven days a week and up to 200-flight
