The Russia-Ukraine conflict has driven another stage of evolution for drones and the counter measures to defend against them.
An increase of drone misuse and unmanned airport incursions over British airspace has led to UK police agencies developing tactical strategies to prevent similar events transpiring.
Recently, ‘Major airports’ across Lincolnshire tasked the county police force with devising a strategy to protect against drone incursions and safeguard commercial interests, according to Kevin Taylor, special sergeant at Lincolnshire Police.
‘We [the Lincolnshire area] have a massive cargo hub that operates 24 hours a day which is a critical piece of national infrastructure because if it stops and the cargo doesn’t travel across the world, the commercial implications are massive,’ he explained.
