FLIR sustains focus on US robotic vehicle initiatives
FLIR Systems is looking to leverage recent contract success with its UGVs and experience with US military test exercises, in competing for upcoming contracts for larger platforms which will fill unmanned gaps in US multi-domain operations.
The company, which spent big in recent years acquiring companies such as Endeavor Robotics and Prox Dynamics, is currently being purchased by Teledyne Technologies for $8 billion, pending regulatory approval.
Initiatives involving FLIR Systems, such as Project Convergence and Project Quarterback (leveraging AI for tank warfare), as well as the upcoming EDGE 21, all add to the sum of knowledge within the US
