Eurosatory: Nexter signs new contracts with Gabon
Nexter has signed new contracts with Gabon, continuing their ongoing collaboration, it was announced on 14 June.
The contracts include the supply of mobile medical shelters from Nexter’s subsidiary, Euro-Shelter; NX-100 UAVs from partner Novadem; Nerva LG UGVs equipped with various mission kits; and Findsat positioning systems.
The Nerva LG is a multi-purpose mini-UGV that can be used for reconnaissance missions, explosive ordnance disposal, CBRNe detection, transportation and smoke generation. It is a throwable, waterproof system that can be controlled via smartphone, tablet or computer, and operated semi-autonomously. It can carry payloads such as infrared or day cameras. The space-based Findsat is a blue force tracker system that can locate and identify friendly personnel.
The NX-110 quad-copter from Novadem is a small UAV with foldable rotor blades and hub arms. It can be transported in a carry case. It can carry a gyro-stabilised day or infrared camera, and it has an interchangeable payload bay that can hold sensors such as spectrometers and radiometers.
In 2014, Gabonese forces acquired Nerva LG reconnaissance mini-robots; PG Guard protection system; and Aravis 4x4 armoured vehicles equipped with the ARX20 remote weapon station from Nexter.
