iRobot wins MTRS MK1 contracts

The US Navy’s Naval Surface Warfare Center has awarded two indefinite delivery/indefinitely quantity (IDIQ) contracts to iRobot to support, upgrade and produce Man Transportable Robotic System (MTRS) MK1 UGVs, the company announced on 5 October. 

The combined ceiling value of the two contracts totals to $96 million.

The total ceiling value of the first multi-year IDIQ contract is $46.7 million. Under the contract, the company will provide support services, upgrades and spares for MTRS MK1 UGVs. An initial order worth $7.5 million has been placed.

The total ceiling value of the second multi-year IDIQ contract is $49.1 million. The company will produce MTRS MK1 UGVs, depot level repair parts, spares, consumables and approved accessories to support engineering enhancements and configuration management. An initial order worth $374,000 has been placed.
