DroneShield system counters unwanted UAV
A DroneShield system has successfully demonstrated its ability to counter malicious unmanned aerial vehicles, having been used by law enforcement officials when a drone flew over a football match at the end of August.
The company announced on 7 October that at an undisclosed college football team match an unwanted UAV was identified, and using a DroneShield system law enforcement was able to track and secure the aircraft and arrest the perpetrator.
The deployment of the DroneShield system was part of this university’s efforts to provide this type of protection, the company notes, adding that during this game law enforcement could track the UAV in real time, rapidly counter it, and subsequently make an arrest.
