Black Hornets create buzz in Australia

The Australian Army marked the onset of ‘widespread proliferation’ of the FLIR Systems Black Hornet 3 micro-UAV on 23 May, as the programme progressed from niche/trial capabilities.

The aim is to equip every infantry platoon with the miniature aircraft and the type is ‘now halfway through its roll-out across the entire army combat force,’ according to Lt Col Keirin Joyce, programme manager of UAS at the Australian Army.
