AUVSI 2015 (video): Big fans of the Hummingbird
Allen Bishop, the founder of Reference Technologies, tells Shephard about the company’s Hummingbird ducted fan-powered UAV on display at the AUVSI exhibition in Atlanta.
The Hummingbird features a central 24in-wide duct, surrounded by six 17in-wide outer ducted fans, although it is currently working on a larger UAV that will feature eight ducted fans around a larger central duct.
The company has placed its initial focus on such applications as precision agriculture, power and pipeline inspections, emergency services and delivery services.
