Australia hunts for naval VTOL UAV

Australia wants a small number of vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) UAVs to develop experience in their use aboard Royal Australian Navy (RAN) ships at sea.

According to a February tender that closed on 11 April under Navy Minor Project 1942, the RAN is looking to procure a ‘proven’ maritime tactical unmanned aircraft system - interim capability (MTUAS-IC) and associated engineering and logistic support.
