ADEX 2013: Korean Air exhibits full house of UAVs
Korean Air is exhibiting the full range of its UAV capabilities at ADEX 2013, including its KUS-TR, which has flown for the first time.
According to Shin DongWoo, lead researcher subsystem group, aerospace engineering team, the tiltrotor UAV took its successful first flight on 19 October. Development of the UAV was funded internally by the company.
The design was informed by work done at the Korean Aerospace Research Institute, which has developed two of its own tiltrotor research UAS: the TR60 and its larger cousin the TR100.
