SOFIC 2018: USAF special forces issue stand-off munitions challenge

When it comes to stand-off precision guided munitions (SOPGM), US Air Force special forces is challenging industry to bring forward new munitions and solve technical challenges associated with controlling the yield of the warhead in flight. 

During SOFIC 2018, Air Force Lt Col Jeffrey LaFleur, the materiel leader for integrated strike programs at Special Operations Command, called on industry to step up and meet the Pentagon's growing appetite for SOPGM.
