Rangers outline tactical scenarios

Under recent sources sought announcements released on 29 June, representatives for the Army’s 75th Ranger Regiment outlined a number of specific training scenarios seen as applicable to unit operations.

The first announcement outlines force-on-force and demolitions training being explored by 3rd Ranger Battalion (3/75), headquartered at Fort Benning, Georgia, for the mid-September timeframe.

“The purpose of this training event is to exercise tactical, command and control, and technical elements under realistic conditions that replicate the scale, diversity, and complexity of the operational environments encountered during overseas combat deployments,” the announcement stated, noting that the accompanying scenarios described “the work necessary
