To fend off the cold, NSW identifies survival gear needs

The Naval Special Warfare (NSW) community is seeking cold weather survival gear to help troops stay warm in extreme environments.

In a 23 February sources sought announcement, NSW identifies the need for 'brand name or equal/industry equivalent' for boots, shoes, packs, jackets and pants for extremely cold weather operations

The NSW solicitation comes just one month after the US Army’s 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) hosted a Special Operations Forces Cold Weather and Altitude Symposium in Colorado Springs, CO. Funded by the Special Operations Command Science and Technology department, the symposium sought to enhance technical and tactical abilities of SOF
