Kalashnikov reveals Special Operations Vehicles

The Kalashnikov Group used the annual “Army 2018” International Military Technical Forum to present a series of new special operations vehicles (SOVs) to the Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD).

Conducted between 21st and 26th August, the event provided the Russian company with the opportunity to unveil an upgraded variant of its electric-powered motorcycle, the SM-1- a technology demonstrator of which was first presented to the MoD at Army 2017.

The motorcycle, which has been designed for utility as a “covert” reconnaissance platform for larger mobility ground force elements, relies upon a water-cooled brushless DC motor with rechargeable Lithium
