COVID-19 delays Canadian SOF vehicle replacement

The release of a draft RfP for the Canadian Army’s Next Generation Fighting Vehicle (NGFV) has been delayed due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
A spokesperson from the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) told Shephard that although it had initially predicted the release of an RfP in spring 2021, 'we now anticipate it will be released in 2022'.
The delay means that NGFV remains in the Options Analysis phase. The full RfP was anticipated in 2022, so the CAF may also put this back if the draft is delayed.
