Caribbean Special Tactics Center opens

Special operations units across the Caribbean Sea, Central and South America are set to benefit from increasing levels in cooperation and interoperability with the establishment of a dedicated training facility in Jamaica.

The Jamaica Defence Force’s (JDF’s) Caribbean Special Tactics Center (CSTC), which was officially opened on 26th March by Chief of the Defence Staff Maj Gen Rocky Meade, will support the advanced training of special operations units, according to service officials.

Opened with the assistance of the Canadian Special Operations Forces Command (CANSOFCOM) and funded by the government’s Global Affairs Canada organization, the training facility is located at the
