Tactical vests sought for USASOC dogs

The US Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) is seeking equipment to protect its Ranger canines in combat operations around the world. 

In a recent USASOC request for information, the command asks for sources capable of providing Multi-Purpose Canine (MPC) tactical equipment in support of the 75th Ranger Regiment’s regimental dog program (RDP). 

The RDP falls within the unit’s Regimental Special Troops Battalion. 

The RDP uses a beginner’s handler course and an advanced handler’s course to train teams from all three Ranger battalions. All Ranger dog teams travel to Fort Benning, Georgia to conduct the advanced handler’s course.
