Polish naval plans persist despite submarine uncertainty

As the Polish Navy looks to modernise its ageing fleet, uncertainty remains over its key Orka programme aimed at introducing a new class of conventional submarines to the service.

Details from the Technical Modernization Plan, which was published by the Polish MoD at the end of February and covers the period from 2017-2026, outlined a number of priority acquisition efforts in the land, sea and air domains.
