Poland eyes export opportunities for new minehunters
Since the Polish Navy commissioned its first prototype ORP Kormoran (601) minehunter of the new Kormoran II-class questions have been asked about exporting the Polish-designed vessel.
The first attempt to present the new Polish minehunter for export might be made in connection to the Belgian-Dutch plans for replacing their fleets of legacy mine countermeasures (MCM) vessels with a series of more modern platforms of this class.
Belgium and Netherlands plan to procure six new MCM vessels each, under the terms of the agreement signed by both parties at the end of November 2016, with Belgium taking the leading role
