Pakistan Navy corvette PNS Tabuk commissioned in Romania
The Pakistan Navy formally commissioned into service the newest members of its fleet, PNS Tabuk, at a ceremony at the Port of Constanta, Romania, on 12 November, before it begins its homeward transit to begin operations in 2021.
The sister ship of PNS Tabuk, PNS Yarmook, arrived in Pakistan in Q1 2020, transiting through the Bosphorus on its way from Damen Shipyards’ Galati site in Romania.
Displacing around 2,300t, the class is based on Damen’s OPV 1900 design and provides the Pakistan Navy with a multipurpose platform capable of carrying out a range of duties including maritime and EEZ patrol, among others.
