Nigerian Navy commissions new FPB 72 patrol vessels
The Nigerian Navy commissioned into service two new FPB 72 Mk II patrol vessels, the NNS Shiroro (P185) and NNS Ose (P186), following their official delivery which took place at Lagos Naval Base, on 22 September.
The two ships were built by French shipyard OCEA following an order placed in February 2017, Fabrice Weinbach director of maritime safety and security at OCEA explained to Shephard.
In July, the vessels underwent sea and acceptance trials in France before being handed over to the Nigerian Navy. In August, the two ships were loaded aboard a cargo for the journey to Nigeria
