UK-based Griffon Hoverwork is using LIMA to showcase its BHT 150, one of the largest hovercraft to be manufactured in the UK since the 1970s, with the first customer for the technology in Asia.
The 30.8m craft was delivered to the Korea Coast Guard in December last year. The agency plans to use it in the Incheon region for maritime safety patrols, security and evacuation, and airport crash rescue. The craft has a crew of 12 and can carry 188 passengers, in speeds in excess of 40kts with a 1m obstacle clearance.
