W.Africa distracted from piracy
Internal political issues in several West African countries are preventing Governments from addressing piracy threats in the Gulf of Guinea and neighbouring waters.
The assistant director of the International Maritime Bureau (IMB), Cyrus Mody says piracy off West Africa is one of his greatest areas of concern because of the degree of violence, the regular exchange of fire and the lack of reporting.
